1. Acceptance
By creating an account, subscribing, or using any OCTOPUS service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- You sign in with a Google account and must provide accurate profile details (name, phone, institution).
- Users under 18 may use the platform only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
3. Our services
OCTOPUS offers clinical and counseling sessions with qualified professionals, psychological assessments (OCTOPUS Digi ASSMT), a Knowledge Hub of eBooks and audiobooks, internships, research support and workshops. Some features are free; others require a paid subscription or a one-time payment.
OCTOPUS is not an emergency service. If you or someone you know is in crisis or at risk of harm, contact local emergency services (112 in India) or a crisis helpline immediately. Assessments are informational tools and do not by themselves constitute a medical or clinical diagnosis.
4. Subscriptions and payments
- Student plans (UG, PG, PhD) are billed yearly or once for the full course, as shown on the pricing section at the time of purchase.
- All prices are in Indian Rupees (INR). GST at the applicable rate (currently 18%) is added at checkout.
- Counseling sessions, internships and workshops may be charged separately; active subscribers may receive free weekend sessions or discounts as described on the site.
- Payments are processed securely by our payment partner, Cashfree Payments. We do not store your card, UPI or bank details.
- Subscriptions do not renew automatically. Access ends on the date shown in your dashboard unless you purchase again.
- We may change prices for future purchases; changes never affect a period you have already paid for.
5. Sessions with professionals
- Bookings are subject to the professional's confirmation and availability. A professional may accept, reschedule or decline a request.
- Please join sessions on time. Missed sessions without prior cancellation may not be refunded (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy).
- Professionals are responsible for the clinical advice they provide within their scope of practice.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform, including: sharing your account, copying or redistributing paid content, uploading false documents, harassing professionals or other users, attempting to bypass payments or security, or using the service for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Intellectual property
All content on OCTOPUS — assessments, reports, Knowledge Hub material, text, graphics and software — belongs to OCTAVE CONSULTANCY & TECHNOLOGY SERVICES PVT. LTD. or its licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own learning and well-being.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service giving rise to the claim in the preceding 12 months.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version. Continuing to use OCTOPUS after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
